There’s just something about a small town that we adore. The quiet streets as you arrive, the friendly faces, the nostalgic spaces and the support of all things local. When we arrived at Uptown Indigo in Shelby, NC we immediately felt at home.
Duncan Blount met us outside as he was conversing with the neighbor and welcomed us inside. As we stepped inside we were immediately blown away by the intentional design Duncan’s family has put into each nook. Built in 1927, this building is bursting with character. The texture and charm is so unique. The entire tour we were in aw. Down to the little details — every SINGLE tile in the bathroom is handmade y’all. HANDMADE and it looks magical.
Only 50 minutes West of the heart of Charlotte, NC, this two story venue (with a stunning rooftop!) has space to host up to 220 guests seats. Whether you’re looking to host a microwedding of 50 guests or a large celebration of 150, Uptown Indigo is an appropriate option. You’re typically having to choose one or the other; an intimate, separated space or a large ballroom. At Uptown Indigo you get the best of both worlds!
This venue is quite a gem at such an affordable, all-inclusive cost. They include table, line, and chair rentals, friendly staff, a diverse bar selection, and romantic lighting. We’re so excited to dream big here. If you’re interested in touring or planning an event here, please let us know! We’d be happy to help you in your next chapter of life.
PRO TIP: It is always smart to hire a wedding planner BEFORE booking a venue! We can advise you on costs, packages and the overall vibe/aesthetic you’re looking for to ensure you’re getting the most out of your big day!
