Tea Thyme // 7 Carolina Airbnbs Perfect For An Elopement
March 23, 2021Last week, we gave you the run down on 10 Charlotte venues we’re currently loving. We didn’t stop there, though. For this week’s tea thyme, we’re serving up 10 more venues from across the Carolinas! Join us as we road trip through the mountains, along the coast and into other metropolitan areas in search of one-of-a-kind event venues.

The Ridge
This Marshall, NC gem boasts breathtaking views of the Blue Ridge Mountains as well as a French and Spanish inspired reception Chateau. The owner’s describe it as “an immersive experience of European charm” and we couldn’t agree more! Featuring a rolling hills backdrop, The Ridge is simply stunning.

Overlook Barn
Also sitting atop the Blue Ridge Mountains in Beech Mountain, NC is the lovely Overlook Barn. With 30-foot exposed arched ceilings covered in string lights, it’s the epitome of rustic elegance. The property even has a 2nd ceremony barn with a glass garage door that opens to the mountainous view.

The Cedar Room
Located at the historic Cigar Factory in Charleston, SC, The Cedar Room is open and inviting. From exposed brick walls and wooden columns to floor-to-ceiling windows, the space is rich with history, texture and light – perfect for an upscale Southern affair!

Mingo Point
Mingo Point is quite possibly the most unique Carolina venue we’ve come across. This Kiawah Island, SC find provides panoramic marsh views, an open air pavilion, palm trees galore, and rocking chair flanked fire pits. This outdoor venue is fitting for both a relaxed Lowcountry get-together as well as an upscale coastal soiree!

The School House Venue
The new, all-inclusive School House Venue in Travelers Rest, SC has quickly become one of our favorites! It’s owned by a powerhouse couple and filled to the brim with character. We can’t get over the original touches including basketball court markings on the dance floor and a large classroom bell that couples ring after sealing the deal!

Hotel Domestique
If you’re looking for that destination wedding experience without leaving the country, we highly recommend Hotel Domestique! It’s only a couple hours outside of Charlotte in Travelers Rest, SC but it feels like a countryside escape. This Old World yet modern style hotel comes with 13 rooms as well as a picturesque reception courtyard for an unforgettable guest experience.

Avenue
Looking for 360 degrees of cityscape views? Check out Avenue in Greenville, SC! It has all the urban features – a ceremony gallery space, cocktail hour terrace and free-flowing indoor reception hall.

The Bradford
We have so much to say about The Bradford in New Hill, NC. It’s serene, elegant, luxe and absolutely gorgeous! From the quaint fountain at the entrance to the grass lined pavers in the courtyard, every detail is intentional.

Board and Batten
This Lexington, NC venue is both rustic and elevated. We love Board and Batten for its grandiose ceilings and chandeliers, cozy fireplace feature wall, and covered wrap-around porch!

Carolina Grove
We’re ending our venue tour in Hillsborough, NC with Carolina Grove. Surrounded by woods, this towering modern barn comes complete with a twinkle-lit grove, covered veranda, expansive glass windows, and a speak-easy style lounge. It is private, romantic and grand!
Don’t go anywhere because a feature on an alternative style venue is up next! See you around this thyme next Tuesday.
