Get to know her better below.
Q: Give me your best “30 second elevator pitch”. Tell us who you are!
A: Unspoken Designs is a custom design and rental company that focuses on creating unique pieces that allow your personality to shine through on your wedding day. From custom signage and backdrops to staple decor rentals, it is my hope to be able to accommodate all of your decorating needs. Whatever beautiful thing your heart can dream up, we can create together.
Q: Why do you do what you do?
This business truly has been a creative outlet for me. It brings me so much joy to know that something that I created will be enjoyed by couples for years to come.
Q: What should couples consider when choosing decor for their day?
A: I think couples can easily get caught up in trends, or the pressures to continue traditions. I challenge my brides to express their own personality and style when it comes to decor. Decorating is an outlet to truly make the day your own, get creative and have fun with it!
Q: What to avoid on your wedding day?
A: Try not to get so caught up in the details. The day of your wedding you should be focusing on marrying the love of your life. It is inevitable that something is not going to go as planned (hopefully something minor). If you allow yourself to get consumed in all of the small things that may not be going exactly as planned it can take away from the experience of the day. I guess in short I am trying to say- get a planner, don’t try to do it all on your own!
Q: What do you think we’ll see more of this year?
A: I think we are going to continue to see a lot of micro weddings and elopements. 2020 forced us to go smaller, but I think that couples realized that they don’t need to have hundreds of guests to make the day special.
Q: Is there anything you wish you knew when starting your own business or would do differently now?
A: I wish I would have found my niche earlier. When I first started my business I wanted to have a hand in everything. My rental collection truly had no cohesiveness because I felt like I needed to cater to all styles and trends. Find what you love, stick with it and perfect it. Your ideal clients will come to you.
Q: Favorite current wedding decor element?
A: Layers and textures! Adding these 2 things can add so much visual appeal and dimension to a table scape, backdrop, or signage piece.
Q: Favorite song?
A: I love calm idie music, like something you would hear in the soundtrack for a traveling montage.
Q: Favorite drink?
A: Unspoken Designs is literally run on iced coffee. I am plane jane and usually just drink it black with a little bit of almond milk. My favorite alcoholic drink would probably be a margarita, but I like to spice it up and add in some jalapeños.
Your best day off is spent doing:
A: My ideal day off would be spent hiking. There is nothing better than getting off the grid and enjoying creation.
