Romantic Garden Wedding at The Ivy PlaceDecember 2, 2020
Meet the talented, bold and brilliant heart behind Seeded Events + Design, Jenna Leak! She’s a Monroe, NC based florist, planner and artist but the sky’s truly the limit with this one. We love collaborating with Jenna on weddings and shoots. Always a lovely time!
Q: Give me your best “30 second elevator pitch”. Tell us who you are!
A: Seeded Events & Design, LLC, is a Wedding Planning company that offers much more than your typical Full-Service or Month Of package. We provide our clients with the option to customize their experience, to best suit their personalities as a couple. Along with planning, we also offer florals & small batch rentals. We offer that, to provide you with options that best fit your needs. We strive to create relationships with our couples and build trust, so that we can provide our brides with outstanding service during the entire planning process.
Q: Why do you do what you do?
The way I look at it, planning and floristry is like live art. Blending my creativity with the couples vision for their day is so fun. And, being a part of my couple’s biggest day is such an honor. You get to see their faces light up when they see their day, or their florals, come to life. Seeing that reaction is priceless, and gives me such a sense of satisfaction!
Q: What should couples consider when choosing flowers for their day?
A: Look at the florist’s work. Think of their social media, as their vision board! They post the styles that speak to them, the type of work they want to continuously create. Look at the styled shoots that they pour their hearts into, that’s the style we strive for. Our social media is going to speak volumes. Make sure the florists you reach out to have the style and the vibe that you’re going for. The more similar your styles and vibes are, the easier it is to bounce ideas off of each other, to create something magical!
Q: What to avoid when brainstorming flowers?
A: Pinterest isn’t always reality. Every florist is different, just like every artist is different. Trust me when I say floristry is an art, it’s not for everyone. You could tell two florists or two artists to make the same thing, but their interpretations and steps may differ. Ultimately, resulting in different final products. Let your florist have creative freedom. Trust us to create the best possible final product, for you and your big day. This is why we encourage finding someone who fits your style and vibe!
Q: What do you think we’ll see in 2021?
A: Lots of weddings, and very little sleep.
Q: Is there anything you wish you knew when starting your own business or would do differently now?
A: Taxes & Accounting. No one tells you how confusing and difficult that stuff is. I would have loved a heads up on how to handle all of that.
Q: Favorite flower?
A: Ugh!! Such a tough question, because I love them all! But, if we’re getting specific, I like the weird flowers and the smaller ones that people don’t think to use as often. For example…Scabiosas, Butterfly Ranunculus, Beehive Ginger, and SnowBerries.
Q: Favorite song?
A: I wouldn’t say I have a favorite, but I love a good sing along song! Ones that I can belt all the words to in my car, during all the driving that I have to do alone.
Q: Favorite drink?
A: An ice cold coke is my guilty pleasure…but if we’re talking alcohol, ya girl loves tequila! Shots, margaritas, etc.
Your best day off is spent doing:
A: My best day off is spent getting extra sleep, spending some time outdoors, or going to get my nails done. Getting my nails done is my escape, I seriously have the best nail tech in Charlotte!!
