A wedding visionary, stationery guru, expert stylist, talented florist, go-to-model and bride herself, Logan Carlson is all the things and more! We are so incredibly lucky to get to work with her day in and day out. Get to know her better below as she shares the ultimate wedding advice!
Q: What are your roles in the wedding industry?
A: Currently I am working with couples to create their perfect wedding stationery at Tied and Two, designing florals and installations for small events and photoshoots, and jumping into day of coordinate whenever Honey and Thyme needs me of course! I’ve also been the bridal model for some local styled shoots and that has been the best experience because it really combines all my passions of styling, photography and events!
Q: What have you learned by being a bride yourself?
A: Decision paralysis is real! The process is supposed to be fun so if you are feeling burnt out take a breather. And in the end don’t over think things – go with your gut. Remember there are no rules – do whatever feels right for you and your partner.
Q: What are you most excited for as a bride?
A: To see all my friends and family in one place enjoying a meal and dancing together! I live to host so a wedding is a dream! And of course seeing our vision come together to tell our story after literal years of planning!
Q: What do you think couples should lean into more?
A: Examining why you are making certain choices instead of blindly doing things because everyone else is. Don’t treat traditions as rules but instead suggestions you can pick and choose from. If it doesn’t serve you or make sense for your event – leave it out. Also I always recommend looking to other sources besides weddings for inspiration such as your favorite films, art, and home decor.
Q: What should couples avoid?
A: Letting other people’s opinions persuade you. At the end of the day it’s your special day! Not theirs. Also remember it’s only one day of your life – as beautiful and special as it will be – take some of the pressure off! I think “best day of your life” talk can be toxic and cause a lot of stress to meet that expectation. This will be one of many “best” days of you life!
Q: What do you like to do on your days off?
A: Right now it’s mostly planning my sister’s and my own wedding! If it’s not visiting my family in Rock Hill, My husband and I (courthouse wedding first) like to take walks around the city and try new restaurants and breweries. Always exploring!
Q: Mountains or beach?
A: Beaches always – Florida baby here!
Q: Sweet or salty?
A: Definitely depends on the mood!
Q: Favorite local drink?
A: Any local IPA! Basic but true.
Q: Favorite town in the Carolinas?
A: I have to say Charlotte! We have been here since 2018 and are still exploring all that the Carolinas have to offer but for right now it’s the little city I call home.
