Q: Give me your best “30 second elevator pitch”. Tell us who you are!
A: Bel Fiore Beauty is a wedding and event hair and makeup company dedicated to elevating natural beauty! I work with my Bellas to create a custom beauty look that suits their personality and accentuates their best features. I specialize in natural glam makeup and soft textured romantic hair. My goal is for you to look in the mirror and see the best version of yourself.
Q: Why do you do what you do?
A: I have always loved doing hair and makeup, I grew up doing it for my sisters and friends in high school. My hobby turned more into a career when my mom suggested cosmetology school. I’ve always loved the transformation that takes place after doing someone’s hair and makeup. To be able to show someone just how beautiful they are and see them recognize that they are beautiful when I turn them towards the mirror is why I do what I do. I have this motto for my business: “All the Bellas grow beautiful here”. To me it means recognizing the beauty you have and letting it shine through, even if you need a little help finding it, that is what I am here for.
Q: What is your favorite wedding day look right now?
A: My favorite wedding day look right now has to be a bronzey brown eye with a touch of shimmer and soft romantic curls with twists in the back.
Q: How can couples prep their hair and skin for their wedding day?
A: Prepping hair and skin is so important for a wedding day. Prepping your hair for wedding day is making sure it stays healthy. That involves getting regular trims (not drastic cuts) to keep the ends healthy (usually every 10-12 weeks), investing in a good hair mask to help you hair stay moisturized and shiny and lastly, talking with your wedding stylist about your hair goals so they can recommend any hair additions you might need like extensions or face framing pieces during your next haircut. Prepping your skin is also essential to having a bridal glow. I always recommend starting a facial regimen at my favorite spa Toccare Day Spa in Charlotte. The estheticians there can really customize a skin care routine that suits your specific skin type. We always want to make sure we are washing our face morning and night, removing all our makeup off at the end of the day and wearing sun screen EVERYDAY even indoors. Some other great skincare ingredients to use would be serums with Vitamin C, hyaluronic acid, and an eye cream with Vitamin C as well.
Q: What trends do you think we’ll see in the next year?
A: I definitely think natural glam makeup is going to be more prominent next year for weddings. I keep seeing more and more brides leaning this way because they want to recognize themselves but also want their fiancé to recognize them at the end of the aisle. I also think we will be moving away from tighter formal updos, if brides do decide on updos I think they will be much more relaxed and loose looking. More and more brides are electing to wear their hair down on wedding day as well. I think a more relaxed wedding day glam is around the corner!
Q: What tip do you have for couples on their wedding day?
A: Drink your water, make sure to eat some lunch and enjoy your day. You both have worked hard to plan a beautiful wedding so don’t forget to sit back and let your vendors do their job so you can fully enjoy your day. Carve out a little alone time for the two of you after your ceremony to soak up finally being married!!!!
Q: Favorite accessory currently?
A: Always and forever will be fresh flowers in a brides hair.
Q: Beach or mountains?
A: Beach for sure! My husband always makes fun of me that I am the quickest person to become a beached whale and sit for hours. I will become one with the sand haha!! I still remember to wear my hat and sunscreen!! My husband likes to go hiking a lot so I am getting into the mountains too!
Q: Your favorite non-alcoholic and alcoholic drink?
A: My favorite non-alcoholic drink is a glass bottle coke hands down. After a super long day, its the best to sit down and drink a coke on my porch. Favorite alcoholic drink is a banana daiquiri specifically the rainforest café recipe.
Q: Your best day off is spent doing:
A: My hubby and I just bought a house a year ago, so that is what I am into lately on my days off. Walking around stores for house stuff, deciding how we want it to look and feel. I also enjoy just hanging out at home with my little puppy Luna and kitty Spooky.
