Planning ahead for your wedding photos will eliminate day-of stress and guarantee that all memories are captured for years to come! Choosing a photographer isn’t always easy (there’s SO much talent to choose from!), so we’ve compiled a list of 6 Things to Consider When Booking Your Wedding Photographer:

1. Photography Budget – this can range anywhere from $1k to $10k+.
2. Editing Style – which do you prefer: dark + moody, light + airy, editorial, film? See examples below!
3. Work Style – are you looking for someone to provide a lot of direction or capture candid moments?
4. Portfolio – be sure to view full albums and not just highlights!
5. Venue/Space Lighting – will he/she be shooting in direct sunlight or in low lights? How will that affect his/her editing style?
6. Contract Terms – photo rights, editing timeline and deliverables.

Remember, you can always use your engagement shoot as a trial run to make sure you mesh! Your photographer will be with you for the entire day including several intimate moments. You’ll want to hire someone who feels like a friend!
